E – Posters Guidelines

PREPARATION FORMAT FOR E-POSTER

  • An E-Poster is the electronic version of a traditional poster, which is displayed on digital screens using Power Point slides. They may include text, figures, tables and images but NOT videos or animations. All approved E-Posters can be viewed on appropriate digital platforms set up at the conference venue.
  • E-poster should be as a SINGLE PowerPoint document having ONE slide only.
  • Kindly add your name and affiliation in your ppt
  • Slide should be prepared in Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 & above version only.
  • Slide size should be 16:9 and page setup should be in Landscape orientation.
  • Total file size must be less than 5MB, else it will be rejected automatically.
  • Ensure good picture quality images & tables – at least 600kb per image.
  • Preferred fonts include Calibri avoid fonts size <14
  • Use Copy Paste only for inserting images, photos, graphics and tables.
  • Pictures, graphics and tables should be clearly marked and labelled.
  • Patient name or identity not to be revealed – Use cropped or masked images.
  • Text should not be obscured by images. Do not overcrowd the slide.
  • Content should be clear, concise and written using correct spelling & grammar.
  • Use clear headings and leave spaces in between sections.
  • Use adequate color contrast for better visualization.
  • Do NOT embed any audio, animation, video or document in the slide.
  • Avoid overlapping objects and layers – only the final elements will be visible.
  • Avoid using hyperlinks as there will be no internet access during presentation.
  • If slide is created in Mac, OSX kindly convert and send in compatible format.
  • Do not use symbols & special characters in file name when saving document.
  • All conflict of interest or financial disclosures, if any, should be made known.
  • Remember that simple posters are always more attractive and easier to read.

 

GUIDELINES FOR E-POSTERS ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

  • An E-Poster is an electronic version of the traditional posters, which is displayed on digital screens using Power Point slides. E-Posters may include text, figures, tables and images but NO videos or animations.
  • Poster award will be given to the Presenting Author only.
  • Poster abstracts must have at least one TNOA Member as an author or co-author.
  • If Presenting Author is not a member or not enrolled as a Life Member of the TNOA on (or) before May 31st2024, that poster will not be considered for the best poster award.
  • Institution / hospital affiliation and doctor’s name in the title or abstract should NOT be mentioned. Any form of non-compliance will lead to automatic rejection.
  • All approved E-Posters can be viewed on appropriate digital platforms set up at the conference venue.
  • The Presenting Author will be given 1 hour time slot during which he / she will be required to be present next to the viewing station to answer any questions pertaining to their poster, if any.
  • Eligible and selected E-posters will qualify for the “TNOA Coimbatore Ophthalmic Association Best Poster Award”.
  • Eligible and selected E-posters will qualify for the “TNOA Coimbatore Ophthalmic Association Best Poster Award”.
  • The presenting author must register for the conference before May 15th 2024 for final approval for presentation in the conference.

Abstract Title: The title of poster SHOULD NOT exceed 100 characters (including spaces).

Synopsis: The Synopsis SHOULD NOT exceed 1000 characters (including spaces).

Co-authors: A maximum of two co-authors can be added. If there are no co-authors, add the chief / presenting author (yourself) as a co-author.

TNOA Coimbatore Ophthalmic Association Best Poster Award

  • Only TNOA members are eligible to participate.
  • He/she should have enrolled as a Life Member of the TNOA on (or) before May 31st 2024.
  • A declaration that this poster has not been presented in any conference earlier in any other form (as a paper/ poster/ video) should be given by the participant.
  • Violation of the above rule, if proved will attract immediate disqualification of the entry.
  • The poster may be the work of either one or a group of persons.
  • The same person may be considered for the award in the subsequent years too even if he / she has won the award earlier, provided a different poster is presented subsequently.
  • The Presenting Authors of posters which are shortlisted for the award will need to be present during the assessment by the judges on the final day of the conference.
  • Posters will be judged according to Content, Display, Scientific value, Creativity & Originality.

The Judges shall be

  1. The President of TNOA (or) his / her Nominee
  2. The Immediate Past President of TNOA (or) his / her Nominee.
  3. President of Coimbatore Ophthalmic Association (or) his / her Nominee.
