- Free Paper duration is 6 minutes only (5 min presentation + 1 min discussion).
- Each member can submit a total of TWO abstracts only, as Presenting Author
- The paper will not be considered for best paper or any award if the Presenting Author is not enrolled as a Life Member of the TNOA on (or) before May 31st 2024.
- All Free Paper awards will be given to the Presenting Author only
- Institution / hospital affiliation and doctor’s name in the title or abstract should NOT be mentioned. Any form of non-compliance will lead to automatic rejection.
- Violation of the above rule (or) any other form of non-compliance, if proven, will lead to automatic rejection / immediate disqualification of entry
- Presenting Authors of Free Papers that are selected and not eligible for Best Paper awards will be given the option to either present the paper in non-competitive session (or) convert to E-poster presentation. They should confirm their decision and inform the same through email to the scientific committee, WITHIN 7 DAYS of announcement of results.
- All Best Papers entries selected in each competitive session will qualify for the “TNOA Prof. C. P. GUPTA AWARD SESSION” on the final day
- The change of presenting author name to be requested only once and last date be July 15th 2024.

- A declaration that this paper has not been presented in any conference earlier in any other form (as a paper / poster / video) should be given by the participant.
- Violation of the above rule, if proved will attract immediate disqualification of the entry.
- The paper may be the work of either one or a group of persons.
- The same person may be considered for the award in the subsequent years too, even if he / she has won the award earlier, provided that a different paper is presented subsequently.
- The time allotted is 6 minutes (5 minutes presentation + 1 minute discussion)
- The 2 Judges shall be nominated by The President of TNOA, The President-Elect of TNOA and representative of the endowment committee.
1. Will be awarded to the Best Paper in the Best of the Best Session, herein after called “THE C. P. GUPTA AWARD SESSION” on the final day.
2. The time allotted for each paper is 6 minutes.
- Only members of TNOA are eligible to participate
- He/she (the Presenting Author) should have enrolled as a Life Member of the TNOA on (or)
before May 31st 2024. - Acceptance of the paper and the rights to present in the conference will be confirmed subject to verification of proof of age and membership
- A declaration that this paper has not been presented in any conference earlier in any other form (as a paper / poster/ video) or published in any journal should be given by the participant.
- Violation of the above rule, if proved will attract immediate disqualification of the entry.
- The paper may be the work of either one or a group of persons. If it is that of a group, the first (Chief / Presenting Author) & should be a life member of the TNOA
- The same person may be considered for the award in the subsequent years too, even if he / she has won the award earlier, provided that a different paper is presented subsequently.
- Papers will be judged according to Content, Presentation, Scientific value, Slides & Originality.
The Judges shall be
- The President of TNOA (or) his / her Nominee.
- The Immediate Past President of TNOA (or) his / her Nominee.
- The Director, RIO GOH (or) his / her Nominee.
- All BEST PAPERS selected from each session should be submitted to TNOA Journal of Ophthalmic Science and Research (TNOA-JOSR), as first priority for potential publication
- Publication of the article/study will be decided by The Editor, TNOA-JOSR and this will be intimated to the authors, within 6 months after submission. The authors can submit the selected BEST PAPERS to other journals, only if rejected by TNOA Journal.
- NOTE : If the authors have already submitted it elsewhere for consideration for publication, they must declare the same, at the time of submission of proposal. If selected, the paper can be presented but will not be considered for “Best paper of the session award.”
